The Legacy Center of Johns Creek is the proposed multi-discipline cultural arts center being developed to serve the needs of Johns Creek and the north metro Atlanta region. The project is being led by the Legacy Center Task Force, a 18-member sub-committee of the Cultural Arts Alliance at Johns Creek, Inc, a 501 (c)(3) organization incorporated in 2012.

A facility dedicated to visual, performing, and cultural arts in Johns Creek has long been a conversation among arts professionals, arts supporters, elected officials and other leaders in the community. Three studies since 2016 have shown the need for such a center in Johns Creek. The latest was a 2018 feasibility study by Webb Management funded through the Johns Creek CVB with Hotel/Motel tax revenue.

The Legacy Center of Johns Creek is the name that has been selected for this project. Legacy is defined as something handed down from one generation to the next, which reflects how arts and culture have historically been passed down through the ages. Legacy also connotes creating a physical object of importance for today with lasting value for the future. This name is for the project only. The name of the facility will be determined later.

A Financial Feasibility Study is Underway as the next step toward launching the financial campaign for the proposed multidisciplinary cultural arts complex. Convergent Nonprofit Solutions has begun the financial feasibility study and is expecting to present their final report by the end of November 2019.

Funding of $250,000 to support the launch of a financial campaign, including the financial feasibility study, has been provided by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, due in large part to the efforts of District 1 Commissioner, Liz Hausmann.
