Fulton County Arts & Culture announces search for the first Fulton County Poet Laureate.
The purpose of the Fulton County Poet Laureate is to broaden the awareness of poetry, expand enhance literacy, expand access to literature in its varying forms and promote the literary arts throughout the County. The term of office is up to five years and the selected Poet Laureate will be expected to develop a proposal that reflects and achieves the goals of the program. Activities and special projects can include but are not limited to readings, workshops, composing original works, public art projects, and partnerships with the library, local schools and other innovative partnerships.

Requirements: Eligible applicants must be a full-time resident 3 years prior to the application deadline date, maintain Fulton County residency during the term of the appointment and share a connection with Fulton County. Applicants must be a writer of any of the recognized poetic forms and have a substantial body of work published with active projects in the last five years. The deadline to apply is Thursday, September 12, 2019.

Get Ready for Fulton County's 2020 CFS Funding Opportunity
Fulton County CFS (Contracts for Services) funds Fulton County arts organizations and projects. Individual artists' projects and municipality art initiatives are also eligible for CFS funding..

The timeline for 2020 CFS is expected to be earlier than last year in the continuing effort to align contract awards with the 2020 calendar funding year.

Start looking for 2020 CFS Guidelines, training dates, and applications made available near the end of August, 2019. Applications deadlines could be as early as October.
